Air quality is one of the most overlooked components of a respiratory protection program. Compressor systems often produce air that does not meet the minimum requirements for respirator breathing air. Even if the atmosphere is clean, contaminants can reach the respirator wearer if drawn in at the compressor intake or picked up from plant air piping system. Many of the contaminants present in compressed air can be removed through the use of filters. CO monitors, an important component of a compressor-supplied air system, alert the user to the presence of lethal carbon monoxide. Bullards 41 Series airline filters can be used in conjunction with other compressor safeguards to supply cleaner air to airline respirators.
